Hi! We are Bob and Linda Decker.
We are travelers, adventurers, and nature lovers. For years we have been exploring the vast land throughout the northeast and have carried that tradition on as we have raised our children.
We wanted to create a special memory-making experience to share with others and realized our dream in the summer of 2012.
The getaway of our dreams.
It all began around the bonfire. We were roasting s’mores on our property with our kids and dreaming about how incredible it would be to have a special place to share with others. We all added our thoughts on how we would make it the coziest place! For our kids, that meant toys for exploring and a place that our family dog could enjoy too! For Bob, it was important to have an extravagant fire. For me, it was all about the view, the gathering space, and the Hammock!
Bob’s ancestors were some of the first settlers in Willowemoc, NY in the mid 1700’s and Linda grew up in Yorkshire, England and raised their family in the Upstate NY area. They have been together for 30 years and have 5 wonderful children. Bob is a retired Union Glazier and Residential Contractor and Linda is a retired frontline health care professional & collector of all things Scottish.
The Yurt @ Willowemoc Haven was built in the fall of 2011 and hosted guests for the first time during the summer of 2012. Bob and Linda past down their legacy to their children in 2023 who have revamped the Yurt & Property to create the beautiful and comfortable haven that it is today.

Bob and Linda are both deeply passionate about the Catskill Mountain region. There is so much to do and see, but it’s also just right for slowing things down to relax and reset. They love taking hikes, picking berries, bike riding on dirt roads, and snow-shoeing in the winter. They always share their adventures and recommendations with friends and family.
They love getting to know their guests so they can offer tailored traveling advice that best fits the interest of the travelers.
